Sunway TES College Johor Bahru (JB) has signed several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with accounting firms to enhance educational experiences and expand professional development opportunities, reported Business Today.
Among the firms that signed the MoUs, The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) which is joining as a suite holder, will open its first office in Malaysia.
ISCA CEO Fann Kor stated that this collaboration aims to create a skilled workforce that will contribute to the economic development of Johor Bahru.
Kor added: “We are glad to partner with Sunway TES College to launch our first ISCA office in Malaysia. With the strong bilateral relationship between Singapore and Malaysia, initiatives such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone help to facilitate a mutually beneficial and thriving business environment in both countries.
“We are confident that together, we can nurture and cultivate a steady and sustainable talent pipeline.”
In addition, firms such as EY, KPMG and Grant Thornton plus PwC, BDO, and Baker Tilly will establish corporate suites within the Sunway TES College JB campus.

Sunway TES CAE founder and Sunway College managing director Teo Ee Sing noted that this initiative will allow students to connect with industry experts, attend workshops and explore trends such as sustainability in accounting.
Recently, ISCA and Kaplan Higher Education Academy signed a MoU to launch a 15-month programme for aspiring chartered accountants.
This collaboration aims to provide both local and international students with opportunities to pursue the Chartered Accountant of Singapore qualification.
