The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) has unveiled the rebranding of its political action committee, the CPA-PAC, to enhance advocacy efforts for CPAs in Pennsylvania.

The institute said the rebrand reflects its strategy to represent the profession’s interests in the current political and economic environment.

The CPA-PAC aims to improve government by encouraging the participation of CPAs and members of the business community in politics.

It provides financial backing to candidates for state office, including the State House, State Senate, and other roles such as governor, auditor general, and treasurer.

By supporting initiatives that align with the PAC’s mission, it intends to contribute to shaping a more effective and responsive government for businesses and residents across Pennsylvania.

The approach is designed to ensure that decision-makers are aware of the implications of legislative actions on the state’s economy and the role of CPAs in fostering trust in capital markets, taxation, and support for businesses of all sizes.

CPA-PAC Board of Trustees chair R. Charles Waring said: “For decades, the CPA-PAC has been a trusted voice in Harrisburg, working to educate and support lawmakers while giving CPAs in Pennsylvania a voice at the public policy level.

“Our new look symbolises the PAC’s forward-thinking approach to advocacy, while we continue our mission of supporting policies that align with the interests of Pennsylvania’s broader business community.”

PICPA CEO Jennifer Cryder “We continue to be grateful for the support our members provide through their donations and thoughtful insights that guide our influential presence in Harrisburg. None of this would be possible without member support.

“2025 is shaping up to be a critical year for the future of our profession and we intend to be front and centre when it comes to advocating in the best interests of our profession and the broader PA business community.”
