The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation has appointed Makoto Takahashi as its regional liaison office director in Tokyo, Japan, effective from May 2018.
Takahashi is taking over from Mitsuhiro Takemura who has been in the role in the Asia Oceania office since 2012, in charge of day to day operations and supporting the work of the Foundation board. Takemura is returning to Deloitte when his term ends in April 2018.
The office supports the work of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and provides a regional point of contact for stakeholders interested in financial reporting across the region, as well as supporting research.
