The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has elected three new board members.
The new board members are:
- Deloitte Morocco partner Asmâa Resmouki, nominated by the Moroccan Institute (Ordre Des Experts Comptables du Maroc);
- Visiting professor at Bari University of Economics Elbano De Nuccio, nominated by the Italian Institute (Consiglio Nazionale dei Dottori Commercialisti degli Esperti Contabili),
- and Asia Petroleum Managing Director and CEO and former president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan Yacoob Suttar.
During its 40th annual council IFAC has also admitted the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka and the Institute of Certified Accountants of Montenegro as members, and the Lithuanian Association of Accountants and Auditors as an IFAC associate member.
The Accountant understands that the former president of the French Institute of Accountants (Ordre des Experts Comptables – OEC) Philippe Arraou was appointed president of IFAC’s Technology Advisory Group (TAG), although at the time of publication the appointment hadn’t been confirmed by IFAC. The TAG was set up by IFAC president Rachel Grimes at the start of her mandate to help the accountancy industry to manage the risks and embrace the opportunities of technology.
