PricewaterhouseCoopers partner and past
president of the Federation of European Accountants (Fédération des
Experts Comptables Européens – FEE) David Devlin has received a
lifetime achievement award from Chartered Accountants Ireland.
The lifetime achievement award is presented to
Chartered Accountants Ireland members whose contribution to the
profession, to business life and to Irish society in general has
been outstanding
Devlin is the only man to have served two
terms as FEE president (between 2002 and 2006), according to
Chartered Accountants Ireland president Tom Fitzpatrick.
Devlin is also currently a member of the
International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants and the
European Corporate Governance Forum Supervisory Board of the
European Financial Reporting Advisory Group.
“His (Devlin’s) contribution to the
development of the profession has been enormous and continues to
this day. His role has been recognised by many and we felt it was
time that his own Institute paid tribute to his good work,”
Fitzpatrick said.
This award has only previously been given to
one other recipient, former European Commissioner for Internal
Markets and Services Charlie McCreevy, in 2006.
