The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has awarded PKF International with the global approved employer status for professional development, which provides ACCA members employed by the network more options to meet their continuing professional development (CPD).
The global approved employer is a program which recognises employers who meet high standards of education and training for their staff and commit to the ongoing development of their ACCA members.
There are two streams of approval for global approved employer status: trainee development and professional development. While some employers hold both streams, PKF International has been awarded the last.
It means that ACCA members who are employed by PKF International are automatically exempt from having to follow ACCA’s CPD unit scheme route, "due to the high quality of support that their employer provides to ensure that their knowledge and skills stay up to date".
However such ACCA members are still required to complete their annual CPD declaration confirming they are covered by the approved employer route.
ACCA head of global employer relationships Lisa Peake said: "Attaining the global approved employer status is a huge achievement, recognising the commitment member firms give to the development of their accounting professionals globally."

By GlobalDataPKF Africa regional director Theo Vermaak said that to be awarded the global approved employer status was a milestone in the relationship between the global network and the ACCA.
"We believe [it] will help us attract more ACCA members and students globally, and enhance the quality of professional development initiatives throughout the PKF network," he said.
The recognition is valid for three years and is subject to renewal at end of that period.
