
The Financial Accounting Foundation’s (FAF) Board of Trustees has named Barbara Baldwin as a new member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council (GASAC).
Baldwin, who is currently the executive director of the Council of Internal Auditing for the State Budget and Management Office of North Carolina, will represent the National Association of State Budget Officers during her term.
FAF Board of Trustees chair Edward C. Bernard said: “The Board of Trustees is pleased to have Ms. Baldwin join the GASAC.
“Her background, having served multiple state governments providing audits, and both financial and investigative reviews will bring a unique perspective to the discussions.”
Baldwin, who has more than three decades of experience in state government, specialises in audit and financial management.
She manages and offers strategic direction to internal audit functions across the state government, ensuring compliance with North Carolina’s internal audit requirements.
Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) chair Joel Black said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Barbara to the GASAC, her in-depth knowledge of state governmental finances and procedures will provide an excellent perspective on our upcoming projects and agenda items.”
The GASAC plays a role in advising the GASB on various aspects of standards setting, including strategic and technical issues, project priorities, and other matters.
February 2025 saw the reappointment of two members to the Private Company Council by the FAF Board of Trustees.
Michael Cheng and Katina Curtis are set to continue their contributions with a second three-year term starting on 1 January 2026 and ending on 31 December 2028.
