Captivate Q has announced the AML Edge 2025 conference, aimed at equipping accounting professionals with knowledge and tools to address the forthcoming anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) reforms.

These reforms will be effective in July 2026.

The conference is scheduled for 27 March 2025, at Watersedge in Sydney and aims to provide insights into adapting to regulatory changes without compromising client service or operational efficiency.

The one-day event will feature sessions designed for accountants, focusing on adapting to AML/CTF compliance, learning from other jurisdictions, and practical steps to prevent business disruption.

Captivate Q Program director Louisa Thomas was quoted by Accounting Times as saying: “As a key focus of AML/CTF regulations, the reforms will require accounting firms to adopt stronger due diligence processes, transaction monitoring, and risk assessment frameworks.”

“AML Edge 2025 will help accounting businesses understand how to implement these changes seamlessly and protect their firms from the risks of non-compliance.”

AML/CTF experts, including Jeremy Moller, Grace Mason, Alice Bexson, Timothy Goodrick, and Daniel Mossop, will offer guidance to attendees.

The conference will also host panel sessions on various topics such as the current state of play, the journey towards tranche 2 reforms, essential information for accountants, the role of an AML/CTF compliance officer.

Louisa Thomas added: “Compliance isn’t optional, and the clock is ticking. AML Edge 2025 is designed to help the accounting profession tackle these regulatory challenges head-on,” she said.

“In just one day, attendees can gain critical and actionable insights from AML experts and industry leaders who are already leading the way with their compliance strategies.”
