Becker has unveiled Becker Academy, an educational platform aimed at bridging the knowledge gaps in foundational accounting principles, laying a groundwork for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam preparation.
The initiative is a collaborative effort with the University of Missouri, with the first course titled “Financial Accounting Foundations.”
The course covers the essentials of the accounting cycle.
It comprises a diagnostic pre-test, lecture videos, practice multiple-choice questions, a practice test, a post-assessment, and a practical capstone exercise.
Becker Professional Education President Ed Clark said: “We know that no two individuals learn the same – so our Becker Academy courses will remove any assumptions about what someone already knows and help each learner solidify their understanding of key concepts they need to understand to excel in their exam prep journey.”
Research by Becker and the School of Accountancy at the University of Missouri’s Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business has revealed foundational knowledge gaps among individuals embarking on or already engaged in CPA Exam preparation.
