The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in Sri Lanka has recently held its inaugural ACCA diploma certificate awarding ceremony.  

This event celebrated the accomplishments of diploma holders and represented ACCA’s strategy to developing future finance and accounting professionals in the country, reported Daily Mirror.Ik

The ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business was awarded to students from five Gold Approved Learning Providers. 

These include Achievers Lanka Business School, Alpha Business School, and Premier Partners Institute of Management, along with Online Accounting.lk and Wisdom Business Academy. 

The Diploma in Accounting and Business – International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme is claimed to give students a start toward earning the ACCA Qualification and other academic credentials. 

It includes three of the 13 professional exams required for ACCA membership.  

Upon completing these exams and the Foundations in Professionalism (FiP) module, students will receive ACCA’s Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF level 4). 

Member network panel chairman Chaaminda Kumarasiri conveyed ACCA’s mission to the attendees and highlighted the importance of completing the ACCA qualification for a career in finance and accounting. 

In her closing remarks, ACCA South Asia Head Nilusha Ranasinghe encouraged the graduates to continue their professional journey, stressing the importance of taking the next steps promptly. 

The ceremony provided insights into the resources and support offered by ACCA for professional development. 

I August 2024, ACCA with STARS International University launched a dual degree programme allowing students to earn an ACCA qualification alongside their bachelor’s degree.
