High-profile chartered accountant Sizwe Nxasana is to step down from his post as chief executive officer of FirstRand, while fellow CA Kwame Addo-Kufuor has been appointed regional chief financial officer for Newmont Africa in Ghana.
Sizwe Nxasana
A member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Nxasana has stepped down from the role of chief executive officer at South African banking group FirstRand.
One of the first 10 black chartered accountants in South Africa, Nxsana established Sizwe & Co, the first black-owned national accounting firm in the province of KwaZulu-Natal in 1989.
Nxsana joined FristRand Bank as chief executive officer in January 2006 and was subsequently appointed to chief executive officer to the bank’s holding company FirstRand Limited, in 2010.
Kwame Addo-Kufuor
Previously vice president of corporate affairs for AngloGold Ashanti, Kwame Addo-Kufuor has been appointed regional chief financial officer of mining corporation Newmont Africa.
A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana, Addo-Kufuor’s tenure at AngloGold Ashanti spanned 18 years.
