The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) has entered a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) to bolster the professional development of Abu Dhabi-based United Arab Emirates government employees.
This partnership is set to integrate digital and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions into specialised training programmes, including the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification, according to a press release posted on Zawya.
The collaboration aligns with the DGE’s mission to build a future-ready government workforce, fostering continuous learning and nurturing a culture of innovation in line with Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision.
The MoU is designed to enhance cooperation in the creation and execution of professional development programs that are supported by digital and AI tools.
The CMA certification, facilitated by the IMA, will be accessible to Abu Dhabi-based government staff through the GovAcademy initiative of the DGE.
The objective is to drive professional growth and provide employees the necessary resources for ongoing development and excellence in their roles, thereby improving the performance of government entities across Abu Dhabi.
Training programmes will be available for employees at all levels, from executives to new hires, with the aim of offering learning and training opportunities to all talent to enhance their performance and capabilities.
The DGE and IMA plan to deliver interactive training through various mediums such as workshops, digital platforms, conferences, and scientific journals, to share valuable insights and promote knowledge exchange.
Institute of Management Accountants chairperson and CEO Mike DePrisco said: “Through this partnership, the Institute of Management Accountants aims to align with national strategies, particularly Emiratisation, to prepare local talents for leadership in a competitive environment.
“We are equipping Abu Dhabi’s workforce to meet future requirements by addressing global priorities such as integrating artificial intelligence with finance, leading in challenging times, and embedding sustainability in financial practices, while supporting Abu Dhabi employees in addressing global challenges.”
Both organisations will use shared educational infrastructure such as digital learning platforms to introduce news programmes such as the Executive Financial Wellbeing Program.
