Veranda Learning Solutions has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Institute of Accountants and Bookkeepers (IAB), UK, to introduce the Certified International Accounting Professional (CIAP) programme in India.

This initiative aims to bridge the skills gap in the finance and accounting sector.

The CIAP programme is designed as a six-month course to offer commerce students essential accounting and bookkeeping skills.

This aligns with the growing demand in the outsourced accounting services sector.

The programme’s development has been a collaborative effort with the IAB.

With the finance and accounting business process outsourcing market expected to reach $134.65bn by 2032, the CIAP programme aims to provide practical, job-ready skills.

NSDC backs the initiative by facilitating connections between students and financial partners,

offering accessible loans, making the CIAP programme attainable for a wider audience.

NSDC CEO Ved and NSDC International managing director Mani Tiwari said: “By collaborating with Veranda Learning and the Institute of Accountants and Bookkeepers, we are not only equipping students with globally recognised qualifications but also empowering them to seize lucrative career opportunities in a rapidly growing industry.

“Our commitment at NSDC is to ensure that this programme is accessible to all aspiring professionals, fostering a diverse talent pool ready to meet the demands of the global market.”

Veranda Learning Solutions executive director and chairman Suresh Kalpathi said: “By 2025, it’s anticipated that 320 new global capability centres (GCCs) would have opened in India, as many businesses open their first global centres outside of their home countries.

“Currently, India is expected to add 115 new GCCs every year, a huge rise from the current rate of 70 per year. This programme, in a nutshell, provides students with the skills, opportunities, and global exposure needed to thrive in high-growth sectors.”
